Riyadh, Camel Market and Races

I don't know if they let you race, but you sure can buy your own camel if you visit Riyadh's Camel market (Souq al-jamal), which is in north of the Dammam road 30 km from the city centre (take the Thumamah exit). Every Thursday from 4 pm, camel races take place at the camel race track along the extension of Al-Uroubah St. It's a popular excursion for locals and is't very fun seeing the beasts loping across the sand.
